  • Best Onstage Moment: The JB tribute during the Mardi Gras show at the High Dive, complemented by horns from Pocket Change. During this performance, a streaker made a nude dash across the stage before diving into the audience.

  • Best Onstage Moment: # 1. Being joined by the singer/dancers during Lonesome Josephine, Gloria, and Sex Machine on 10/7/06. Thank you, Anna and Heather. # 2. The inadvertent smashing of the piano stool at the end of a very raucous rave-up on 10/28/06.
  • Hard Data:1 trip to Taiwan. Andrew jumped off the stage, cruised to the airport and flew to the Far East after the 10/7/06 show.

SEPTEMBER 2006

  • Best Onstage Moment:Having the piano player from Twisp sit in on the James Brown section of the set on 1/28/06 to provide jazzy flavor.

DECEMBER 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: New Year’s Eve Show – 12/31/05.
  • Best Onstage Moment: Ben proposed to Lauren for Jeremy on 12/3/05 at
    Waldo’s. LHS played some love music and then launched into Roll Away.
  • Hard Data: Ronan hit 5 cities in 7 days: Amsterdam on Friday, Vienna on
    Saturday, Salzburg on Monday, London on Thursday to attend a star-studded rock show in Soho, then back to the states for a rock show in the snowy Bavarian-themed town of Leavenworth, WA on Saturday.

NOVEMBER 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: The Tractor – 11/12/05.
  • Best Onstage Moment: The version of “Who Knows” at the Boulevard in Spokane on 11/5/05.
  • Hard Data: 12 hours in the van on 11/6/05 driving from Seattle to Spokane after I-90 was shut down by rock slides.

OCTOBER 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: The Wild Buffalo – 10/7/05.
  • Best Onstage Moment: The Train on 10/7/05.
  • Hard Data: 22 installments of Ben’s Monthly Album Projects. That means 22
    albums worth of lyrics written by Ben and published to the LHS site since January 2004.

SEPTEMBER 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: Sunbanks – 9/9/05.
  • Best Onstage Moment: The jazz interlude/breakdown moment on 9/2/05 while Ben and Suzy, the #1 LHS fans in Seaside, OR, told the tale of how the song “Blue Eyes Shinin’” was licensed to the TV show ER. Also, rocking "Sex Machine" for the perplexed audience in Seaside, OR on 9/3/05.
  • Hard Data: 1 gig with an acoustic, upright piano on 9/18/05.

AUGUST 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: Blue Spark - 8/20/05.
  • Best Onstage Moment: The Tiny Dancer/Gloria bit with accompanying female dancers on stage at John's Alley on 8/27/05.
  • Hard Data: 5 months in the recording studio, to date, working on album IV.

JULY 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: Tractor - 7/16/05
  • Best Onstage Moment: The roof-shaking climax of the set on July 4th atop a building in Belltown while witnessing the Fireworks on the Puget Sound.
  • Hard Data: 3 shows in 37 hours from 7/15/05 to 7/16/05.

JUNE 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: Showbox - 6/4/05
  • Best Onstage Moment: #1The split move/beer slip/Tony Manero a la
    Saturday Night Fever/ cross-over correction to close the show on 6/4/05. # 2
    The guy with the ukelele and the wrestling mask hopping around during Baba
    O'Reilly at the private event LHS played on 6/25/05.
  • Hard Data: 4 sets on 6/25/05.

MAY 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: UW Rock show - 5/29/05.
  • Best Onstage Moment: The James Brown medley on 5/27/05, 5/28/05, and
    5/29/05.
  • Hard Data: 5 hrs from Vancouver, BC to Seattle and 5 hours from Seattle to
    Spokane = 10 hrs commuting on 5/21/05.

APRIL 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: The CCFA Benefit show at the Showbox 4/8/05.
  • Best Onstage Moment: Having Mike McCready join us onstage for a song. We played "Sympathy for the Devil" and Mike galvanized LHS with his arena-tested rock abilities.
  • Hard Data: 1300 peopled rocked on 4/8/05.

MARCH 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: Capitol Food & Wine Festival.
  • Worst Onstage Moment: LHS unsuccessfully attempts to modulate "Fame's
    Around the Corner" from the key of B to the key of C at John's Alley on 3/25/05. However, the band deserves credit for being spontaneous.
  • Hard Data: 4 songs on the Fan Appreciation CD, including 12 minutes of
    "Sex Machine."

FEBRUARY 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: The Crocodile on 2/4/05 for Mardis Gras
    weekend.
  • Best Onstage Moment: Ex-LHS bassist delivers shots of Jager to the band on 2/4/05. His presence is celebrated by all and LHS is happy that Andrew still wants to be involved and part of the stage show.
  • Hard Data: 14 songs recorded as demos for the new album.

JANUARY 2005

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: John's Alley on Jan 14th
  • Best Onstage Moment: The Sensitive Smoke opening set at the White Eagle in Portland.
  • Hard Data: 4 broken piano keys, 3 shows of 3+ hours of music, and several long van rides.

DECEMBER 2004

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: New Year's Eve at the Tractor
  • Best Onstage Moment: Performing "Fallin' In Love With A Dream" at
    Jazzbones.
  • Hard Data: 5 shots of alcohol accidentally kicked over onstage on New
    Year's Eve, 5 broken guitar strings during shows, and 5 new harmonicas
    purchased.

NOVEMBER 2004

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: Friday, November 26th at the Showbox in
    Seattle.
  • Best Onstage Moment: Having the crowd come and party onstage at John's
    Alley during a raucous version of "The Train".
  • Hard Data: One luxurious stay at the Ridpath Hotel, one trio gig, one
    bottle of Captain Morgan's rum at the Showbox, one Oscar Peterson CD (Finest Hour) at the pre-funk, and one memorable ride in the Mercedes Benz on the way to the post funk.

OCTOBER 2004

  • Big Rock Show of the Month:Friday, October 15th at the Crocodile in
    Seattle.
  • Best Onstage Moment: "Annie" in Tacoma.
  • Hard Data: 30,000 thousand students at the University of Washington who
    were encouraged to vote by Democracy Fest on 10/26/04.

SEPTEMBER 2004

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: Monday, September 6th at Bumbershoot.
  • Best Onstage Moment: The very ending of "Blood Runs Hot" at the Sunbanks festival on 9/11/04.
  • Hard Data:Exactly 75 minutes of rock n' roll performed by LHS on 9/6/04.

AUGUST 2004

  • Big Rock Show of the Month: Friday, August 27th at John's Alley.
  • Best Onstage Moment: Playing the new song, tentatively titled "Prophet
    Bum," at John's Alley and watching the crowd go bananas.
